HEART OPENING HERB RECIPES:
Hawthorn Heart Tea: a simple heart tonic tea blend:
Ingredients:
· 1/3-ounce hawthorn berries
· 1/10-ounce rose petals
· 1⁄4 stick cinnamon
Directions:
· Soak hawthorn berries in 16-ounces of water for 8-12 hours.
· Pour soaked hawthorn berries and soaking water in a pot and cover.
· Bring water to a boil, then reduce to a simmer.
· Simmer for 15–20 minutes, covered.
· Prepare roses and cinnamon and place into a teapot.
· Pour hot water and berries over roses and cinnamon then cover.
· Steep for 10 minutes, then strain and serve.
Heart Ease Tea: a tea to delight the taste buds and nourish a sorrowful heart: Ingredients:
· ½-ounce linden flower and bract
· ¼-ounce anise hyssop aerial parts
· ¼-ounce hawthorn leaf and flower
· ¼-ounce rose petal
· ¼-ounce lavender buds
Directions:
· Blend herbs together.
· Infuse the herbal mixture in 8-ounces of hot water.
· Cover & steep for 10-15 minutes.
· Drink 1-4 cups daily.
Spiritual Heart Infusion: combines heart relaxant, protectant, and exhilarant properties of linden, hawthorn, and Tulsi for a gentle hug throughout the day: Ingredients:
· 1 tablespoon linden flowers and bracts
· 1 tablespoon hawthorn leaf, flower, and berry
· 1 tablespoon Tulsi leaf
Directions:
· Add 1 heaping tablespoon of each herb into a 32-ounce mason jar.
· Pour just-boiled water over herbs, filling the jar.
· Let the mixture infuse overnight.
· Strain and compost herbs.
· Sip throughout the day for an exhilarating and protective treat.
Hibiscus Rosewater Tonic: Taken from Chakra Tonics:
Ingredients:
· 1 teaspoon dried ginger
· 2 tablespoon hibiscus flowers
· 2 teaspoon hawthorn berries
· 1/2 teaspoon rosewater
· 3 cups purified water
· 1-3 teaspoon honey of choice
Directions:
· Bring water to a boil, add herbs, cover, and steep for 15-20 minutes.
· Strain out the herbs and add the rosewater and honey.
· Serve warm or over ice.
Warming Herbal Truffles: Taken from the Herbal Academy:
Ingredients:
· ¼ cup cocoa powder
· ¼ cup maca powder
· ¼ cup turmeric powder
· 2 tablespoons damiana powder
· 1 tablespoon ginger powder
· 1 tablespoon rosemary powder
· 1 tablespoon cardamom powder
· ½ tablespoon black pepper finely ground
· 3/4 cup tahini or almond butter
· 1/2 cup raw honey or maple syrup
· 1 tablespoon coconut shreds or black sesame seeds to roll balls in
Directions:
· Mix the nut butter and syrup together in a large bowl.
· In a separate bowl combine the powdered herbs.
· Slowly add powdered herbs to the nut butter and syrup mixture.
· Form mixture into 1-inch balls and then roll in coconut or sesame seeds.
· Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for a firmer texture.
· Enjoy 1-3 truffles per day.
