​HERBAL BREWS RECIPES:​​

DARK & STORMY MUSHROOM BITTERS: By the Herbal Academy: “This blend is a mushroom-based and traditional digestive bitter tonic. Taken with meals, the combination of bitter taste and warming aromatics can help to revitalize digestive function, while the spicy, chocolatey taste of this blend is especially welcome in the cooler months of autumn and winter. Note the small amount used as a pre-meal digestive tonic is just a fraction of the dose needed to maximize the immunomodulant benefits of these mushrooms, but it’s a fun and tasty way to get your digestive juices flowing!”

 

Ingredients:

  • 1-ounce Reishi fruiting body dual extract tincture

  • ½-ounce Turkey Tail fruiting body dual extract tincture

  • ½-ounce Condonopsis root tincture

  • ¼-ounce Damiana leaf tincture

  • 1/8-ounce Cardamom seed tincture

  • 1/8-ounce Ginger rhizome tincture or glycerite

 

Directions:

  • Combine all extracts in a sanitized 2-ounce dark dropper bottle.

  • Shake well! Label and date for storage.

  • Use 15-30 drops in a little water before meals.

  • Use up to 1/8-ounce, 2-3 times daily for additional support.

  • Also makes a great addition to sparkling water, cocktails, or mocktails!

FRANKLIN ROSE MOJITO: By Ariana Madix:

Ingredients: For Rose-Infused Sugar:

  • Fresh rose petals from 6-8 roses

  • 2 cups white sugar

  • 1 pint-sized glass jar with lid

 

Ingredients: For the Mojito:

  • ¾ oz lime juice

  • 4-5 fresh mint sprigs

  • 1 tablespoon rose-infused sugar

  • Crushed ice for serving

  • 2 ounces aged rum

  • 2 dashes bitters for garnish

 

Directions: For the Rose-Infused Sugar:

  • Pour 1 inch of sugar into the bottom the jar.

  • Add one thin layer of rose petals, then an inch of sugar.

  • Continue layering rose petals and sugar until the jar is full.

  • Cap and let infuse for 2-3 weeks in the dark.

  • Strain the rose petals from the sugar.

 

Directions: For the Mojito:

  • Muddle the lime juice, mint sprigs, and rose-infused sugar.

  • Fill the remainder of the glass with crushed ice.

  • Add the rum and stir.

  • Add 2 dashes of bitters for a final garnish.

WILD CHILD SANGRIA RECIPE: Yields 1-gallon:

 

Ingredients:

  • 1-2 apples

  • 1-2 peaches

  • 2 cups strawberries

  • 2 large mangoes

  • 3-4 lemons, limes, and/or oranges

  • 350 ml lemon-lime soda

  • 750 ml red wine fruity and dry

  • 1/2 cup brandy or rum

  • Ice

 

Directions:

  • Cut the fruit into 1" pieces.

  • Leave the skin on except for the mangoes.

  • Cut the citrus into half-moon slices.

  • Layer the fruit in the Mason jar.

  • Add lemon to the fruit that may brown.

  • Pour in the lemon-lime soda followed by the wine.

  • Stir with the wooden spoon and muddle the fruit as you go.

  • Pour in the brandy or rum. Stir and muddle again.

  • Add ice.

  • Use a ladle to serve and scoop the fruit with.
