COPING SKILLS

Coping skills are particularly important for people diagnosed with a brain disorder. Learning coping skills and utilizing them over time can help an individual achieve and maintain good mental health over the long run.

Here are a few coping skills:

  • Meditate, relax, or reflect daily.

  • Join a Yoga class.

  • Get at least 8 hours of sleep.

  • Eat healthy meals and snacks.

  • Take medications as prescribed.

  • Exercise daily if possible.

  • Learn about your diagnosis.

  • Practice assertive communication.

  • Join a support group.

  • Find a great Psychiatrist and Psychologist.
